Gardening has always been an incredibly significant part of my family life, while growing up in Winnipeg, during college years in Iowa, establishing roots in Calgary, and in retirement.  I also love volunteering, having worked for the Humane Society and Ronald MacDonald House, and, as a member of the Edible Garden of Silver Springs for twelve years, I have held a number of positions including treasurer and co-chair.

Joining the BGSS community has brought these two loves together, which means I can help create a place of splendor in nature with other enthusiastic volunteers.

Prior to joining the Board in 2024, I volunteered as a gardener occasionally for six years, and led the first BGSS casino fundraiser in 2023.  As a Board Director my responsibility is to ensure ongoing financial support by leading the Sponsorship and Donations program. This also gives me the opportunity to connect with people, often in a very personal way. BGSS is a vibrant pulse in our community, and I am proud to serve in a way that is meaningful to our patrons.
