Laurel is such a deeply passionate gardener she has remained at the heart of BGSS growth since the beginning in 2006, when 300 feet of hoses would be strung together from a volunteer's house to water the plants. Back then they took a break when someone yelled “stop watering, Kathy needs to have a shower!”

Laurel has held many roles on the Board and in the Gardens but always maintains a solid five days a week tending the plants for many hours.  Visit the Oval Garden, the Shakespeare Garden, the Upper Wall Garden and the Half Moon Garden to see her beautiful work.  Laurel is also a financial sponsor for the Oval Garden.

Apart from having her hands in the soil, Laurel’s favourite activity is engaging new gardeners, nurturing their growth and bringing them into the special community of volunteers here at BGSS.
