Don is now in his second year on the Board at BGSS. Lucky for us, he is an Information Technology veteran, having spent 38 years in Software Technical Sales at IBM, followed by 4 years working with one of IBM's Business Partners before retiring in 2017.

Don’s dad was his biggest source of inspiration when it came to gardening. He helped his dad for many years while growing up, and his dad eventually returned the favour when Don started planting gardens of his own.

He didn’t waste any time rolling up his sleeves after joining the BGSS team, and he quickly got his hands dirty, working in the Gardens too. Most of his efforts involved working with compost and moving soil and installing stone garden borders as well as helping Duncan Badger with some of the other "heavy lifting" that's required from time to time. In fact, it was Duncan who originally recruited Don to join the Board with an eye toward his extensive IT experience complemented by his interest in gardening.
